Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in community development, environmental design, public policy, urban or regional planning, geography, landscape architecture, or closely related field.
• Sufficient experience to understand basic planning principles, usually one to three years.
• Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one in Georgia.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of zoning ordinances and land development regulations.
• Prepare staff reports, findings, and recommendations for planning and zoning applications.
• Interpret and communicate zoning requirements to the public and development community.
• Assist with Planning Commission agendas, packets, and meeting logistics.
• Conduct site visits and field investigations related to zoning and land use.
