Job description

Overview: The Psychiatric Physician at Cone Health can practice in a variety of clinical settings, including inpatient, outpatient, hybrid, full-time, part-time, and relief positions, at various facilities within the Cone Health system. These include, but are not limited to, the Behavioral Health Hospital, Behavioral Health Unit Crisis Center, and outpatient locations in Greensboro, Kernersville, Reidsville, and Burlington. The Cone Health Psychiatrist is responsible for providing exceptional patient care and fulfilling all clinical responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

1. Provides multidisciplinary team coordination services in assigned areas.
2. Mentors Cone Health psychiatry residents and students as needed.
3. Uses independent judgment in diagnosing and treating patients, developing treatment plans, and directing interdisciplinary teams, including advanced practice providers, to achieve patient care goals.
4. Models and upholds professional standards, including Medical Staff By-Laws, Service Excellence commitments, practice standards, physician expectations, and professional image standards.
5. Participates in medical audits, quality improvement programs, peer reviews, investigations, and inquiries related to professional care standards.
6. Engages in continuous improvement initiatives and evidence-based practices to enhance healthcare quality and service, aiming for outcomes in the 90th percentile or above.
7. Maintains records according to MCHS policies, applicable laws, and regulations.
8. Contributes to the development of clinical guidelines, procedures, and programs, and recommends improvements for quality and efficiency of care.
9. Shares designated on-call responsibilities with other physicians in the assigned areas as needed.

Qualifications:

• Board certification in Psychiatry (Fellowship training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry preferred).
• North Carolina Medical License.
• North Carolina Drug Enforcement Administration License.
