The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, McGovern Medical Schoolat UTHealth Houston,is seeking an optometrist to join our department.UTHealth Houston has an extremely stimulating environment with unparalleled opportunities. Position Key Accountabilities:

The Ruiz Department of Ophthalmology at UTHealth Houston is looking for an individual to serve an integral role in our department. Clinical responsibilities will in part be shaped by the provider's skills and interests, and will include both refractive assessment and management, as well as medical management of patients. Specifically, job responsibilities will include screening and triaging of patients requesting same-day appointments. Preference will be given to individuals with experience in management of refractive surgery patients. Work locations may include our Cizik Eye Clinic location in the Texas Medical Center and/or our future location at Bellaire Station. This position may potentially have administrative opportunities at Bellaire Station.

This is a staff position; however, should academic potential be demonstrated, transitioning to an academic appointment may be considered.


Qualifications:

The selected candidate for the position must have a degree in optometry and a Texas Medical License or be eligible for a Texas Temporary License.
