McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, a leading academic health center, invites applications for a full-time or part-time (1.0 FTE), non-tenure clinical track Instructor position in the Department of Neurosurgery's Open Cerebrovascular/Endovascular Neurosurgery program. The selected candidate will serve in a two-year Instructor position from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2027.

UTHealth Houston, in collaboration with Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, utilizes state-of-the-art technology and facilities. Its advanced Vascular Neurosurgery team is nationally recognized as leaders in the field and provides a complete range of procedures.

Position Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize detailed knowledge of catheter technology, radiological imaging, and clinical expertise to diagnose and treat diseases of the central nervous system.
  • Manage patients with neurological diseases, perform both simple and complex open surgical and interventional endovascular procedures, and incorporate these techniques into the surgical treatment of patients with complex vascular and neoplastic diseases.
  • Conduct clinical pre-procedural evaluations, interpret diagnostic studies, consult with other clinicians, generate procedural reports, and participate in post-procedure follow-up care, including neuro-intensive care.
  • Cover vascular and endovascular calls with attending physicians, participate in operative cases, oversee post-operative management, and perform daily rounds with faculty and residents.
  • Manage pre- and post-operative care of patients in surgical and outpatient settings.
  • Participate in weekly didactic conferences. Independent research is encouraged, with protected research time available.
Qualifications:

The candidate must hold or be eligible for a Texas Medical License, preferably with board certification or eligibility. Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency and an interest in research and academia are required. Demonstrated commitment to excellence, discovery, and service, with strong communication and leadership potential, is preferred.
