Job summary

Eastside Medical Center is seeking a licensed pharmacist to support distribution, compounding and dispensing of medications for patients across all ages. The role includes monitoring therapy and ensuring optimal medication outcomes in a hospital setting.

The ideal candidate holds an ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree, is licensed in Georgia, and has preference for hospital pharmacy experience. This on-site position emphasizes competency and ongoing professional development within a clinical care

Qualifications

• Education: ACPE accredited school of pharmacy with a bachelor’s or higher in pharmacy required.
• Work Experience: NA and hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Licenses & Certifications: Licensed as a registered pharmacist in the state of Georgia required.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff.
• Reviewing, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for various age groups, including dosing variations and disease states.
• Supervises pharmacy technician activities and ensures competency and ongoing professional development.

Overview: Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for the reviewing, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients which includes dosing variations, nutritional needs and disease states associated with the various age groups. Supervises pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by auxiliary personnel. Assumes responsibility for competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice. Performs patient focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital, to provide patients with optimal medication therapy.
