Job summary

RPh on the Go is seeking an experienced hospital pharmacist to oversee daily operations in a clinic- or hospital-based setting. You will ensure regulatory compliance while driving quality improvements and supervising staff across shifts.

The role requires leadership in a fast-paced environment, managing purchasing, inventory, and system integrations with RPMS/EHR platforms. Arizona licensure is preferred and nights/weekends may be involved.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of professional pharmacy experience.
  • Two years in management or leadership role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required; PharmD with residency preferred.
  • Current, unrestricted pharmacy license; Arizona license strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations ensuring compliance with professional, regulatory, and governmental standards.
  • Develop and track operational and financial outcome measures, integrating improvements into quality systems.
  • Manage and update departmental policies, ensuring continuous process improvements.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff, providing feedback and fostering professional development.
  • Coordinate efficient use of dispensing and information systems to maintain accuracy.
  • Manage purchasing and inventory control to optimize cost and availability of pharmaceuticals.
  • Produce monthly operational reports highlighting improvements and concerns.
  • Participate in training and hospital educational programs to sustain skill competency.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job description

This opportunity is seeking skilled pharmacists with inpatient/ER experience to support critical pharmacy functions in a hospital clinic setting. The position requires adaptability to variable shifts including nights, days, swing, and weekends, working four 10-hour days per week. The assignment duration is 13+ weeks in Peridot, AZ, suitable for both travel and local candidates interested in contract roles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations ensuring compliance with professional, regulatory, and governmental standards.
  • Develop and track operational and financial outcome measures, integrating improvements into quality systems.
  • Manage and update departmental policies, ensuring continuous process improvements.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff, providing feedback and fostering professional development.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum of five years of professional pharmacy experience, including two years in management.
  • Bachelors degree in Pharmacy required; PharmD with residency preferred.
  • Current, unrestricted pharmacy license; Arizona license strongly preferred.
  • Ability to obtain BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Must successfully pass background and drug screening.
  • ACLS certification required; PALS certification may be obtained onsite within the first month.
  • Experience with Scriptpro (SP200 Robot), RPMS Electronic Health Record, and transitioning to new EHR systems.
