Job summary

Guardian Pharmacy Services in Gainesville, Virginia seeks a licensed Pharmacist to join our team. You will prepare medications for dispensing, review orders for accuracy, and verify drug feasibility based on patient factors while complying with all regulations.

The role requires a VA license, a PharmD or BS in Pharmacy, and solid computer skills. You will work in a fast-paced, team-focused environment with flexible shifts and opportunities to grow within the Guardian family.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (Pharmacy) or PharmD is required.
• State Pharmacist License without restrictions is required.
• 1+ years of related experience.
• Advanced computer skills; pharmacy operations system experience preferred/required.
• Ability to work independently and deliver to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare medications for final dispensing to the patient, including filling, order entry, and packaging.
• Review completed orders and cycle-fill medications to ensure prescriptions were filled correctly.
• Verify the legality and pharmaceutical feasibility of dispensing a drug based on patients' allergies, incompatibilities, and refills.
• Interpret prescription orders, using professional judgment to decide on dispensing while prioritizing patient safety and legality.
• Adhere to Federal and State Board of Pharmacy regulations and guidelines for compounding.
• Transfer prescriptions to other pharmacies when needed.
• Answer questions from patients, doctors, nurses, etc.
• Log all error medication occurrences and maintain accurate records.
