Job summary

M Chest Pharmacy in Houston, TX seeks a Full-Time Staff Pharmacist for our LTC-focused, closed-door operation. In this role you will evaluate medication orders for drug appropriateness, dosage, interactions and geriatric considerations, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will supervise technicians, conduct audits of dispensing machines, provide clinical guidance, and help implement improvement plans. A TX license and a PharmD or BPharm are required; LTC experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD is required.
• Current, unrestricted Texas Pharmacist License is required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, route of administration, potential drug interactions, and geriatric considerations.
• Procures and maintains required documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations and policy; ensures accuracy of filled medications.
• Conduct audits of automated dispensing machines to ensure accuracy of filled medications.
• Provide clinical expertise by responding to medication-related questions.
• Assist the PIC with instructing, directing, and overseeing pharmacy technicians and staff.
• Follow current guidelines for preparing all compounds, including I.V. therapy.
• Strive for compliance by all staff with internal controls and state and federal regulations.
• Participate in development and implementation of improvement plans and report progress to supervisor and management.
