We are seeking a Staff Pharmacist who thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role involves promoting pharmaceutical care by managing medication processes, identifying and preventing drug-related problems, and resolving actual drug-related issues. The pharmacist will perform all duties of a registered pharmacist, with responsibilities tailored to the developmental stages of patients from birth to adulthood.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure medications meet high standards of safety and efficacy
  • Educate patients, caregivers, and the community about medication use
  • Support and maintain patient safety systems
  • Check all communication channels including email, mailbox, and voicemail each shift
  • Maintain smooth pharmacy operations and serve as a role model for technicians and pharmacists, evidenced by positive peer reviews and low incident reports
  • Keep investigational drug records according to departmental policies
  • Contribute to medication management processes
  • Review discharge medications for accuracy and counsel patients/caregivers to ensure understanding of therapies upon discharge
  • Participate in study initiation, maintenance, and closure processes

Note: All successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Ph.D. in Pharmacy
  • RPH certification from the state of Texas
  • Preferred: 2+ years of hospital staff pharmacist experience
  • Preferred: 20 hours of accredited sterile compounding training by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education or the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists
