Job description

Staff Pharmacist

We are seeking a dedicated Staff Pharmacist who thrives in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will promote pharmaceutical care by managing the medication process, identifying and preventing potential drug-related problems, and resolving actual drug-related issues. You will also perform duties as a registered pharmacist, ensuring all responsibilities are developmentally appropriate for patients ranging from 0 to adult age.

Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure medications meet the highest standards.
  2. Participate in educating patients, caregivers, and the community.
  3. Support patient safety systems.
  4. Check all communication channels including email, mailbox, and voicemail each shift.
  5. Ensure the smooth operation of the pharmacy and serve as a role model for technicians and pharmacists, evidenced by minimal complaints, medication incident reports, and peer reviews.
  6. Maintain investigational drug records according to departmental policy.
  7. Contribute to the medication management process.
  8. Conduct discharge medication reviews and counseling to ensure patients and caregivers understand their medication therapies upon discharge.
  9. Participate in study initiation, maintenance, and closure.

All successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in accordance with occupational health and safety standards, as part of our commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.

Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree or Ph.D. in Pharmacy.
  2. RPH certification from the state of Texas.
  3. Preferably 2+ years of hospital staff pharmacist experience.
  4. 20 hours of accredited training in compounding sterile products by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education or the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
