Job Summary


The Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Department of Pharmaceutical Services share its philosophy of pharmaceutical care. As members of the health care team, the Staff Pharmacists II share responsibility for providing high quality, cost-effective patient care which promotes health. This includes evaluating and managing drug regimens for appropriateness of choice; teaching patients and their caregivers how to use drugs in the safest and most effective way; helping patients and their caregivers take an active role in managing their drug therapy; and advocating for patients the safe and effective use of drugs to other health care decision makers.
This position is eligible for a $10,000 sign-on bonus! New employees only.

Department Description


The Department of Pharmaceutical Services at UCSF has long been nationally recognized as one of the founding fathers for clinical pharmacy services, which was established in 1965. Today, the department continues to lead the profession through the integration of advanced technology & robotics, comprehensive pharmaceutical care and clinical services.



Required Qualifications


Active license to practice Pharmacy in the State of California; must be in good standing with the California State Board of Pharmacy Active American Heart Association CPR Certification Experience in a hospital setting; may include one year residency in hospital or clinical pharmacy practice and/or one year supervisory; or an equivalent combination of education and experience The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations



Preferred Qualifications


  • PharmD degree
  • Prior sterile IV compounding experience and familiarity with USP 797/800
  • Prior oncology experience (inpatient or infusion center experience)
  • Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 or PGY2 Oncology residency


License/Certification


Active license to practice Pharmacy in the State of California; must be in good standing with the California State Board of Pharmacy Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
