Specialty Medical Staffing is seeking an experienced Staff Pharmacist for a full-time inpatient hospital opportunity in Zachary, LA. This assignment offers a minimum 90-day term with potential for extension or permanent placement. The role requires inpatient hospital experience and the ability to support medication management and sterile compounding.

Start Date: ASAP. Schedule: 40 hours per week with rotating shifts (7:00 AM–3:30 PM or 12:30 PM–9:00 PM); Weekend coverage on a rotating schedule;

Qualifications

• Active Louisiana Pharmacist license in good standing
• Inpatient hospital pharmacy experience required
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred, but training is available
• Sterile compounding experience preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work varying shifts, weekends and rotating on-call schedules
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Responsabilités

• Provide inpatient pharmacy services and support daily hospital pharmacy operations
• Review and verify medication orders for accuracy, safety and appropriateness
• Prepare and compound sterile IV medications as needed
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals to support patient care
• Manage medication dispensing and inventory using Pyxis systems
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and applicable pharmacy regulations
• Work alongside pharmacy technicians to maintain efficient medication distribution
• Participate in rotating weekend and on-call coverage
