Job summary

Medix™ is seeking a Pharmacist for a newly created on-site role in Houston, TX, focusing on controlled substance management and regulatory reporting. The position offers a Monday–Friday daytime schedule with no weekends and direct-hire security.

You will oversee logs, liaise with DEA and FDA, support floor operations and cleanroom workflows while ensuring cGMP, USP<797>, and USP<800> compliance.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or BS in Pharmacy from an accredited school of pharmacy.
• Active, unrestricted Pharmacist License in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
• 1+ years of hands-on experience in a 503B outsourcing facility, including reporting.

Responsibilities

• Controlled Substance Management & Regulatory Reporting: oversee logs, inventory, and quarterly reports for FDA compliance.
• DEA & Regulatory Liaison: serve as on-site contact for inspections and audits.
• Floor & Production Support: assist labeling, workflow optimization, and QA on production floor.
• Cleanroom Assistance: support batch compounding and product release workflows.
• Cross-Functional Communication: collaborate to enforce cGMP and USP standards.

Job description

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions

• Controlled Substance Management & Regulatory Reporting: Oversee, organize, and maintain controlled substance logs, inventory records, and state/federal drug reporting. Author and submit mandatory quarterly Compounded-Drug Product Reports to ensure 100% FDA compliance.
• DEA & Regulatory Liaison: Act as the primary on-site authority and contact person for DEA, FDA, and Texas State Board of Pharmacy inspections or audits.
• Floor & Production Support: Spend the remaining portion of the day on the production floor assisting with medication labeling, workflow optimization, and quality assurance.
• Cleanroom Assistance: Work cross-functionally inside and around the cleanroom area to support batch compounding, material validation, and product release workflows.
• Cross-Functional Communication: Collaborate with pharmacy technicians, production leaders, and quality assurance staff to enforce cGMP, USP <797>, and USP <800> standards.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Pharmacy from an accredited school of pharmacy.
• Licensure: Active, unrestricted Pharmacist License in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
• 503B Experience: 1+ years of hands-on experience in a 503B outsourcing facility, including direct experience preparing and submitting quarterly Compounded-Drug Product Reports.
