Job summary

Piedmont HealthCare in Newnan, Georgia is seeking a Pharmacist to perform distribution, documentation, and compounding of medications for various patient age groups. This role includes reviewing, compounding, and monitoring medication therapy, while supervising pharmacy technicians and ensuring optimal patient care.

The ideal candidate must be a graduate of an accredited pharmacy school and possess the necessary state licensure upon hire. Hospital pharmacy experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid PHARMD license as a registered pharmacist in Georgia.

Overview

Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for reviewing, compounding, dispensing and monitoring medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients which includes dosing variations, nutritional needs and disease states associated with the various age groups. Supervises pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by auxiliary personnel. Assumes responsibility for competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice. Performs patient focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital, to provide patients with optimal medication therapy.

• Graduate of an ACPE‑accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelors or higher in Pharmacy Required
