Job summary

The Ohio Pharmacy Solutions Group is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to join our team in Ohio. The role focuses on evaluating therapy appropriateness, consulting with physicians, filling prescriptions, and mentoring pharmacy staff.

You will ensure accuracy of prescriptions, provide counseling to residents and facility staff, supervise technicians, train associates, and uphold safety and regulatory compliance. Strong LTC exposure and knowledge of FrameworkLTC are advantages.

Qualifications

• Licensed Pharmacist with active registration.
• Long Term Care experience preferred.
• Knowledge of FrameworkLTC software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy and appropriateness of all prescriptions filled.
• Provide excellent customer service to facility staff and residents.
• Supervise Pharmacy Technicians and support staff on duty.
• Train, coach, and manage Pharmacy associates.
• Assist Pharmacy Manager in managing the pharmacy operations.
• Maintain security of the Pharmacy department.
• Comply with federal and state laws and regulations.
• Handle facility/resident issues, complaints, and questions.
• Interact with physicians/nurses and review PCC to resolve issues.
• Assist with keeping the Pharmacy department clean and infection control.
• Prioritize department tasks and ensure timely completion.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Purpose/Belief Statement

The Staff Pharmacist assists residents with their health care needs by evaluating appropriateness of therapy, consulting with physicians/nurses regarding therapy recommendations, filling prescriptions, providing excellent customer service, and assisting with supervising Pharmacy associates. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws.

• Prioritize Pharmacy Department tasks and follow through to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
