Qualifications

Responsibilities

Review, verify, and dispense prescriptions, including compounded meds, per laws and standards.
Perform prospective drug utilization reviews and ensure patient safety.
Counsel patients on medications and supplements; administer immunizations and pharmacist services.
Follow pharmacy workflows and adapt to daily priorities.
Support technicians and staff requiring pharmacist oversight.
Be on duty pharmacist when PIC is absent to ensure compliant operations.

Education

Vail Valley Pharmacy is seeking a knowledgeable, dependable, and customer-focused Staff Pharmacist to join our team in Edwards, Colorado. We are a locally owned and operated, full-service independent pharmacy specializing in compounding and pharmaceutical-grade supplements. As a Staff Pharmacist, you will provide comprehensive pharmacy services in a hands-on, patient-focused role. You will work collaboratively with our Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) and experienced Lead Pharmacy Technician, who plays a key role in coordinating daily pharmacy operations.

We are seeking a flexible, detail-oriented pharmacist who respects established workflows, welcomes operational guidance and feedback, works well with the entire team, and exercises independent professional judgment in clinical and regulatory matters.

Key Responsibilities

Accurately review, verify, and dispense prescriptions, including compounded medications, in accordance with applicable laws and professional standards.
Perform prospective drug utilization reviews (DUR), identify medication-related concerns, and exercise sound clinical judgment to ensure patient safety.
Counsel patients regarding prescription medications, over-the-counter products, and supplements; administer immunizations and provide appropriate pharmacist-delivered services.
Follow established pharmacy workflows and adapt to daily operational priorities.
Provide guidance and support to pharmacy technicians and other staff on matters requiring pharmacist oversight.
Serve as the pharmacist on duty when the PIC is absent, ensuring safe, accurate, and compliant pharmacy operations.
Assist with prescription processing, data entry, dispensing, answering phones, customer service, and cashier duties as needed.
Collaborate on inventory management, cost control, and pharmacy profitability.
Maintain accurate records and comply with applicable federal and Colorado pharmacy laws, regulations, and safety standards.
