Job summary

State Street Global Services is seeking a Staff Perimeter Defense Engineer within Global Cyber Security to lead the strategy, architecture, and engineering of perimeter security across enterprise networks, internet-facing services, apps, and remote access.

You will drive next-gen firewalls, WAFs, DDoS protections, ZTNA, SSE, and VPN security while collaborating with Infrastructure, Cloud, and Engineering teams to secure internet-facing architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the enterprise perimeter security strategy, architecture, and roadmap.
• Lead evaluation, implementation, and continuous improvement of perimeter security controls and technologies.
• Partner with Network Engineering, Infrastructure, Cloud, and Applications teams to design secure network architectures.
• Collaborate with the Cyber Defense Center to enhance detection, investigation, threat hunting, and response for perimeter attacks.
• Lead security initiatives involving next-gen firewalls, WAF, DDoS protection, secure web gateways, remote access security, API protection, and ZT technologies.
• Drive integration of perimeter security platforms with SIEM, SOAR, threat intel, and security analytics.
• Develop security standards, architecture patterns, and implementation guidance for perimeter security.
• Lead PoCs, product evaluations, and vendor assessments for perimeter security solutions.
• Track and report metrics on threat prevention, attack surface reduction, and risk reduction.
• Serve as SME for perimeter security and defensive engineering initiatives.
