Job summary

State Street is seeking a Staff Perimeter Defense Engineer to lead strategy, architecture, and engineering of enterprise perimeter security. You will protect networks, internet-facing services, apps, and remote access environments while guiding technology choices and integration with SIEM/SOAR.

The role collaborates with Network Engineering, Infrastructure, Cloud, and App teams, driving next-gen firewalls, WAFs, DDoS protection, and Zero Trust implementations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of cybersecurity, network security, or security engineering experience.
• 5+ years designing and implementing perimeter security technologies.
• Experience in financial services or regulated industries preferred.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, PCNSE, CCNP Security preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the enterprise perimeter security strategy, architecture, and roadmap.
• Lead the evaluation, implementation, and continuous improvement of perimeter security controls and technologies.
• Partner with Network Engineering, Infrastructure, Cloud, and Application teams to design secure architectures.
• Collaborate with the Cyber Defense Center to enhance detection, investigation, threat hunting, and response.
• Lead security initiatives involving next-generation firewalls, WAF, DDoS protection, and Zero Trust.
• Drive integration of perimeter security platforms with SIEM, SOAR, and threat intelligence.
• Develop standards and implementation guidance for perimeter security technologies.
• Lead proofs-of-concept, product evaluations, and vendor assessments.
• Track and report metrics related to threat prevention and risk reduction.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for perimeter security initiatives.
