Job summary

Aurora is seeking a Staff Software Engineer and Machine Learning practitioner to join the Perception Tracker Team. You'll advance perception performance for the Aurora Driver and expand its operational domain across key US routes.

You will contribute to scalable, production-grade software and state-of-the-art ML systems for real-time driving applications. The role involves end-to-end development from research to production, with collaboration across cross-functional teams and a focus on safety

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or Bachelor with 2+ years experience).
• Proficient software engineering in C++ and Python for production-quality code.
• Working knowledge in ML: deep learning, computer vision, estimation, optimization, etc.
• Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or other DL frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Tackle end-to-end perception challenges, including tracking dynamic actors and understanding scenes.
• Research and develop state-of-the-art DL/ML models to enhance perception in real-world driving scenarios.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to iterate on the Perception system from data to production.
• Drive lifecycle from prototype to production with large-scale data analysis on the Aurora Driver platform.
• Contribute to architectural strategy and scalable perception systems.
