Job summary

Aurora is hiring a Staff Software Engineer and Machine Learning practitioner to join the Perception Tracker Team. You will tackle end-to-end perception challenges, develop state-of-the-art ML models, and collaborate across teams to deploy robust, scalable perception solutions for the Aurora Driver platform.

The role emphasizes production-ready software, large-scale data analysis, and contributing to architectural strategy in a hybrid work setting, with Seattle, WA as a primary location.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in CS, Robotics, EE, or related field (or Bachelor's with 2+ years of software experience).
• Proficient in C++ and Python with production-quality code.
• Experience with ML focus areas: deep learning, computer vision, and related methods.
• Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Tackle end-to-end perception challenges, including tracking dynamic actors, recognizing actions and attributes.
• Research and develop state-of-the-art ML models to enhance perception performance in real-world scenarios.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to iterate on the Perception system for production readiness.
• Drive the software lifecycle from prototype to production with scalable data pipelines.
• Contribute to architectural strategy and cross-functional engineering collaboration.
