Job summary

Lila Sciences is seeking a Staff OT Security Engineer to own hands-on security for OT environments across instruments, automation platforms, lab compute, and building systems. You will translate OT security architecture into operational controls and lead lifecycle management and detection efforts.

This senior IC role reports to the Senior Director, OT Operations & Security, partnering with SOC, OT engineering, IT, and lab operations. On-site work is required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on cybersecurity or OT security experience in constrained environments.
• Experience designing OT security controls in industrial/lab settings.
• Strong knowledge of segmentation, identity, and access control.
• Experience with machine identity, PKI, privileged access, monitoring.
• Ability to translate architecture into operating controls and runbooks.

Responsibilities

• Translate OT security architecture into operational controls across segmentation, identity, privileged access, detection, response, and vendor access.
• Design zone-and-conduit segmentation aligned to IEC 62443 with security level targets and compensating controls.
• Develop OT-specific threat models and translate findings into design and rollout decisions.
• Own security review and technical sign-off for new automation platforms, vendor integrations, and laboratory deployments.
• Design and operate machine identity, certificate lifecycle, privileged access, and secure vendor remote-access patterns for OT environments.
• Operate and tune OT monitoring and telemetry with central security operations.
• Partner with SOC and detection teams to build OT-specific detection content and runbooks.
• Lead OT vulnerability and lifecycle management including patch strategy and supplier security review.
• Collaborate with OT engineering, controls, automation, IT, and lab operations on segmentation and incident response.
• Mentor engineers and partners as OT scales.
