Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Staff Optomechanical Engineer to support the Electro-Optics Group in Chandler, AZ. You will lead mechanical design of optical assemblies, perform STOP/SILOS analyses, and develop detailed CAD models for imaging and sensing systems, working with cross-functional teams to refine requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics or related field with substantial experience
Active U.S. DoD security clearance at start
Experience in opto-mechanical design, analysis, and integration

Responsibilities

Lead or contribute to mechanical design of optical assemblies, mounts, and structures
Perform STOP and SILOS analyses to verify performance
Develop complex 3D CAD models and detailed drawings
Collaborate with optical, systems, electrical, and manufacturing teams
Support environmental test planning and correlate analysis with tests
Lead design reviews and present findings to leadership
