Job summary

Google’s XR team is seeking a Staff Product Engineer, Opto-Mechanical Modules in Fremont, CA to drive system-level integration of Light Engine Assemblies and DSA components for AR/VR displays.

You will define production binning/calibration strategies, lead DOE-driven characterization, and collaborate with design, test, quality, operations and manufacturing to deliver high-yield, high-performance modules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Optical/Physics or related field.
• 6 years in product engineering for display or semiconductor products.
• 3 years in technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience setting ERS/ICD specs, DOE design, and production calibration.

Responsibilities

• Drive system-level integration, comprehensive characterization, and yield optimization for Light Engine Assemblies (LEAs).
• Establish, align, and maintain technical documentation, including ERS, ICDs, product datasheets, and test protocols.
• Support V&V, DOEs, and corner characterization across optical, electrical, and thermal domains to resolve multi-system interactions.
• Deliver continuous yield improvements using data modeling, failure analysis, root-cause determination, and corrective actions to connect manufacturing and design.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with design, test, quality, operations, and manufacturing teams.
