Job summary

Robinhood is building an elite Observability team in Menlo Park to own the full-stack observability platform. You will shape the roadmap, lead a six-person team, and drive cost-efficient telemetry ingestion while integrating AI-driven approaches for reliability at scale.

You will design and operate distributed systems with Kubernetes and cloud environments, ensure high uptime, and collaborate across engineering and command centers. Hybrid, in-person 3 days a week.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with ownership of large-scale observability or infrastructure initiatives.
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes and cloud environments (AWS preferred).
• Strong coding in Go or Python with production instrumentation experience.
• Experience owning an observability control plane or telemetry pipeline in high-traffic production.
• Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, or similar tooling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the full-stack observability roadmap across metrics, logs, traces, and alerting.
• Own the observability control plane, telemetry ingestion, cost management, and tooling.
• Lead a team of engineers to build scalable, self-service observability solutions.
• Establish and maintain SLOs meeting 99.9% uptime targets.
• Collaborate with other teams to align dependency mapping and incident response workflows.
