Job summary

UPMC McKeesport is hiring a Full-Time Staff Nurse to support our 3M Medical/Surgical Unit on weekends. This role offers a generous sign-on bonus and a chance to work 24 hours per week, Friday 7:00 PM to Monday 7:00 AM, with a commitment to 49 of 52 weekends per year.

The Staff Nurse delivers compassionate, high-quality care, collaborates with physicians and care teams, and guides patients and families through the continuum of care.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing.
• Experience as a staff nurse preferred.
• Ability to work weekends and night shifts.

Sign-On Bonus Details:

$15,000 for registered nurses with more than one year of experience

Candidates hired into a sign-on bonus eligible role will be asked to make a two-year work commitment.

Weekend Program:

This position will work 24 hours per week between 7:00 PM Friday - 7:00 AM Monday. This position must work 49 of 52 weekends per year.

Purpose:

The Professional Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse who is a member of the care delivery team. The Professional Staff Nurse is responsible to set the standards for the level and quality of care. The Professional Staff Nurse has responsibility, authority, and accountability for the provision of nursing care. The Professional Staff Nurse manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through the application of independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members. The role of the Professional Staff Nurse encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration, and supervision. The Professional Staff Nurse establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients and their families, to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care. Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates knowledge of adult learning principles (and/or teaching children if applicable) and applies in teaching of patients, families, students and new staff.
• Provides detailed and appropriate teaching to patients and families to effectively guide them through the episode of care as well as transition to another level of care and/or home.
