Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Staff Nurse in the Transplant Department at University Hospital (Rhodes Hall). The role involves direct patient care, family support and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team in a high-acuity transplant setting.

You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care, coordinating with the care team to ensure quality outcomes, safety, and patient satisfaction. Rotating shifts and a 36-hour schedule are typical.

Qualifications

• Degree in Nursing from a CCNE or ACEN accredited program required.
• Current Ohio license or interim permit.

Responsibilities

• Manage and provide nursing care to patients and support family members.
• Direct and supervise nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team.

Scope of Position:

The team provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patients involvement in his/her own plan of care and reducing the length of hospitalization, The staff nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement , the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost effective care.

Position Summary:

The Staff Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Staff Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.

Required Qualifications:

Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program required. Current Ohio license or interim permit. *Experience in relevant care setting preferred.
