Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Staff RN for the Antepartum Department in University Hospital | Labor & Delivery. In this role you will manage nursing care for patients and families, coordinate shifts, and supervise other nurses to ensure high-quality outcomes.

You will work the third shift on a regular schedule, joining a team dedicated to compassionate, evidence-based care in a leading academic health center.

Qualifications

• 2-year nursing degree from CCNE/ACEN-accredited program required.
• Current Ohio nursing license or interim permit.
• Experience in a relevant care setting preferred.

Job Title: Staff RN - Antepartum Department: University Hospital | Labor & Delivery

Job Description Scope of Position: The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center's mission is to improve health in Ohio and across the world through innovation in research, education, and patient care. The team provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient's involvement in his/her plan of care, and reducing the length of hospitalization. The staff nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement, the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost effective care.

Position Summary: The Staff Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Staff Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.

Minimum Education Required: 2-Year College Degree. Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program required. Current Ohio license or interim permit. Experience in a relevant care setting preferred.
