Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Staff Nurse for the Physician Group on a 0.6 FTE/24-hour per week schedule. The nurse will provide thorough patient care, coordinate with the health team, and participate in education for patients and families.

Qualified applicants will be licensed Registered Nurses with CPR/BLS, and BSN is preferred. Experience in a related clinical specialty and language skills are a plus. Northwestern Medicine offers competitive benefits and equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in state of employment (within past five years or new graduate within past two years).
• CPR/BLS certification.
• BSN preferred.
• One year experience in a pertinent clinical specialty preferred.
• Proficiency in a second language preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides comprehensive nursing care to acutely ill patients using evidence-based practice.
• Administers medications and monitors patient responses, following six medication rights.
• Assesses patient needs and develops individualized care plans.
• Educates patients and families and involves them in care decisions.
• Performs phone triage and communicates abnormal test results with care instructions.
• Participates in quality improvement activities and departmental projects.
