Saint Anthony Hospital in Chicago, IL is seeking a Staff Nurse for Labor & Delivery to provide coordinated patient care on the night shift. The role requires an RN with licensure in Illinois, CPR, and relevant obstetric nursing experience.

Responsibilities include assessing patients, planning and implementing care, and collaborating with the health care team to ensure safe, effective outcomes. A two-year experience is highly desired and ACLS/NRP/PALS/EKG skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Associates preferred).
• Current IL State RN licensure and CPR Certification.
• Must have a minimum of two years of experience; highly desired.
• ACLS, NRP, PALS, EKG monitoring, arrhythmia interpretation, airway and ventilator management as required per department.
• Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider.

• Implements the plan of care within the Licensed Registered Nurse scope; prioritizes safety and documents nursing interventions and responses.
• Evaluates patient responses to care and communicates data to health care team; modifies plan as needed.
• Assesses patients by direct observation and data collection; documents and reports changes promptly.
• Develops individualized patient care plans and collaborates with team members to support decisions.
• RN may delegate nursing activities within their scope of practice.

Position Summary

The Licensed Registered Nurse provides and coordinates patient care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care.

Essential Functions

Implements the plan of care within the concepts of the Licensed Registered Nurse curriculum; consideration for safety in practice; according to established prioritization of needs; documenting and communicating nursing interventions and responses of patient(s) to care.

• Evaluates patient(s) responses to nursing care rendered; documents and communicates evaluation data to appropriate health care team members; contributes to the modification of the nursing plan of care based on ongoing evaluation.
• Assess patient(s) by direct observation and data collection. Records and reports objective and subjective data in an accurate and timely manner. Reports the patient(s) condition and or change in condition as well as signs and symptoms that deviate from normal health status.
• Develops individualized patient care plan.
• Collaborates with team members by sharing relevant information, demonstrating initiative and supporting team decisions and the work life of the department.
• RN may delegate nursing activities to other professional nurses or licensed practical nurses within their scope of practice.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing; Associates in Nursing; Bachelors preferred;
• Current IL State RN licensure and CPR Certification
• Must have a minimum of two years of experience. It is highly desired.
• Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills
• ACLS, NRP, PALS, EKG monitoring, arrhythmia interpretation, airway and ventilator management as required per department.
• Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider.
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
