Job summary

Children’s of Alabama in Birmingham seeks a Staff Nurse to join the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology unit on the Evening-Night Shift. The role requires 3 twelve-hour shifts with a rotating weekend schedule and minimal supervision.

Responsibilities include assessing patients, implementing care plans, educating families, and reassessing outcomes to promote patient and caregiver well-being. Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with an Alabama RN license and BLS certification;

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license in the State of Alabama.
• Current BLS certification.
• Essential: Registered Nurse AL Single State or equivalent qualifications.
• Essential: Basic Life Support

Summary:
The staff nurse is a professional nurse who, with minimal supervision, is responsible for providing nursing care to patients. Patient care includes assessment, interventions, and reassessments of the patient. The nurse is also responsible for planning, implementing, educating, and evaluating care of patients/caregivers.

The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Unit 24 beds and is located in the Quarterback Tower of the Benjamin Russell Hospital for Children in Birmingham, Alabama. Schedule: 3 12-hour shifts, nightshift, every third weekend, Evening-Night Shift, 12-Hour Shifts
