Job summary

University Health Services at the University of Missouri-St. Louis is seeking a Staff Nurse to join the ambulatory care clinic.

The nurse will perform patient assessments, administer medications, support procedures, coordinate care, and educate patients within the scope of practice. Minimum qualifications include completion of an approved nursing program and MO RN licensure (or eligibility); preferred candidates have 1 year in ambulatory/college health settings.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an approved nursing program and Missouri RN licensure (or eligibility).
  • One year of professional nursing experience in ambulatory/college health or related clinical setting preferred.
  • Shift: M-F, 8am-5pm.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs, symptom evaluation, and initial triage
  • Administer medications, treatments, and vaccines within scope of practice and provider orders
  • Assist with clinical procedures and support provider service delivery
  • Coordinate patient care activities, including follow-up, referrals, and continuity of care
  • Provide patient education related to health conditions, treatments, and preventive care
  • Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate relevant findings to providers
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the health record system
  • Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, infection control standards, and institutional
  • Support clinic operations by assisting with patient flow and clinical workflow coordination

Job Description

Health, Counseling, and Disability Access Services is seeking a Staff Nurse at an active university health center. University Health Services is an ambulatory care clinic staffed by a health care provider and staff nurse who collaborate with physicians from various disciplines. The department is committed to providing integrated and effective medical, mental health, health promotion and public health services for the University's student body.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs, symptom evaluation, and initial triage

Anticipated Hiring Range

$26.45-$31.25
