Job summary

Radiant, an El Segundo, CA-based company delivering portable nuclear microreactors, seeks a Staff Regulatory Engineer to lead license applications with the NRC. You will be the go-to SME for regulatory strategy, collaborate across engineering teams, and drive timely, compliant submissions to bring the first portable reactor to market.

This role requires deep regulatory experience, strong communication, and a hands-on approach to analysis, testing, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field from an accredited institution.
• 10+ years of experience certifying, regulating, qualifying or auditing hardware.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation abilities; ability to navigate regulatory conversations.
• Applied understanding of requirement derivation and verification or experience defining systems, interfaces and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Own end to end licensing execution efforts from safety analysis to protection plans.
• Facilitate partnerships with internal stakeholders and regulators to drive desirable results.
• Oversee design reviews and regulatory/quality documentation; assemble data products and reports.
• Review approaches to regulatory efforts to ensure adherence to Radiant's licensing paths.
• Ensure completeness, timeliness, and quality of licensing submissions.
• Write software scripts to automate data analysis and documentation.
