Job summary

Radiant is seeking a Staff Regulatory Engineer to lead NRC license applications for its portable nuclear microreactors. You will serve as the regulatory SME, guiding design, build, and test campaigns with cross-functional teams to meet licensing requirements.

You will own the license submissions and collaborate with regulators to secure a timely, defensible path to market from Radiant's El Segundo, CA HQ. This onsite role demands strong communication and project leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field from an accredited institution.
• 10+ years certifying, regulating, or auditing hardware for production.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to navigate regulatory conversations.
• Experience deriving requirements, defining systems, interfaces and specs.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end licensing execution for NRC license deliverables.
• Facilitate partnerships with internal teams and regulators to drive results.
• Oversee design reviews and regulatory documentation; synthesize inputs into reports.
• Identify and resolve regulatory concerns to ensure timely submissions.
• Assess regulatory approaches to align with Radiant’s licensing paths.
• Write scripts to automate data analysis and documentation.
