Flowserve US Inc. seeks a Staff Nuclear Quality Engineer to lead the Nuclear Quality Management System onsite, drive audits, and collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering, Commercial Ops and Manufacturing to ensure top-quality products.

You will coach cross-functional teams, manage non-conformance processes, and support supplier performance through the AVL program. The role requires strong technical knowledge in nuclear quality, PFMEA, RCA/CA/PA tools, and experience with ERP/SAP and PLM

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field with manufacturing, nuclear, industrial, or mechanical focus.
  • 3+ years leading or working in a nuclear quality program meeting ASME BPVC, 10 CFR 50 App B, 10 CFR 21, ASME NQA-1.
  • Experience with RCA/CA/PA problem solving, PFMEA, and quality software systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; US Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Nuclear Quality Management System at the site and drive audit programs.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering, Commercial Ops, and Manufacturing on quality and supplier issues.
  • Facilitate problem solving sessions (RCA/CA/PA) across functions and support NCR/disposition processes.
  • Manage AVL with Supplier Quality and support training on Nuclear Safety Culture.

ROLE SUMMARY

The Staff Nuclear Quality Engineer for Flowserve is key to ensuring we continue to deliver high-quality and reliable products that meet all Nuclear industry, Customer and company requirements. The person in this role will need to lead informally and collaborate with associates in Supply Chain, Engineering, Commercial Operations, Project Management and Manufacturing in managing orders and the flow of products from suppliers, through our factory, and delivery to the Customer. This person will also facilitate problem solving sessions across all functional areas in the company, in addition to supporting our internal non-conformance disposition processes. The Staff Nuclear Quality Engineer must bring strong experience and industry-specific knowledge to support a critical segment of Flowserve’s business.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Support quality cultural change in the facility aligned with Flowserve values & behaviors. Lead Nuclear Quality Management System at the site. Lead Nuclear audit program (external, supplier, internal). Partner with all functional areas to assure Nuclear Quality compliance at the site. Work proactively to ensure QMS compliance. Support Customer Experience per Corporate Guidelines. Facilitate and coach problem solving (RCA/CA/PA) related to Nuclear business for the facility. Engage in Nuclear Project specification reviews and ITP development. Nuclear Project Quality Document oversight. Support Nuclear Customer Complaints /escapes problem solving and be able to present results to customers. Ensure Nuclear Approved Vendor List (AVL) is managed properly and partner with Supplier Quality teams to manage suppliers’ performance. Provide site training as required on Nuclear Safety Culture and other Quality topics. Support any Quality audit.

REQUIRES THE ABILITY TO

Proven ability to lead initiatives and teams in a multi-cultural matrix organization, manage multiple priorities, and drive continuous improvement. Interact & guide the other functional areas to evaluate failure trends, product quality problems, and quality issues. Evaluate existing quality processes and systems for effectiveness and improvement opportunities. Support quality system deployment plans given multiple system deployments with other functions (ERP, SAP, PLM, SIOP, etc.). Interact with nuclear customers and suppliers on quality issues plus resolution of any problems within process and final product acceptance. Communicate effectively in both verbal and written form with a wide variety of customers including both internal and external to Flowserve. Communicate effectively with associates at all levels, from the factory floor to executives at Flowserve and Customers. Be able to perform and coach others in data analysis and perform root cause analysis. Initiate, formulate and implement new business practices within a specific discipline while managing the development and/or delivery of a significant element of the organization's change management program. Adapt approach and demeanor in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations. Gain the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field (manufacturing, nuclear, industrial, or mechanical) 3+ years' experience of demonstrated success leading or working in a nuclear quality program that meets the requirements of ASME BPVC, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and ASME NQA-1. Knowledge of ASME BPVC, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and ASME NQA-1. Skilled in Team Oriented Problem Solving (RCA/CA/PA tools, able to teach and coach). Skilled in process mapping and risk assessment (PFMEA preferably). Experience in Quality Software Systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office English bilingual, business conversation. US Citizen

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Previous experience in metal-mechanic industries or similar nuclear business. NQA-1 Lead Auditor Experienced in special processes (NDE, welding and testing) PFMEA & Control Plan Management (Creation and maintenance). Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent SAP experience Familiar with Commercial Grade Dedication and material upgrade requirements Employment Type: Full time Percentage of Approximate Travel Required: up to 10% Location: Charlotte, NC
