Job summary

Visa is seeking a Staff Network Engineer to operate the company’s internal data communications systems, including LANs and WANs. This role covers planning, designing, implementing, and troubleshooting networked systems, and coordinating with vendors for installations.

All duties require fluency with emerging technologies, including Generative AI tools. The position involves project planning, cost analysis, and training, with global collaboration and 5–10% travel.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, planning, documenting, and implementing LANs and WANs.
• Experience with cloud service provider ecosystems (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Experience with SD-WAN technologies.
• Understanding of TCP/IP network protocols.
• Experience in high-availability networks in load-balanced, n-tier environments.
• Experience leading complex global projects from development through implementation.
• Ability to write technical design and build documentation.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, implement, and provide ongoing support for network systems of high complexity in extranet, commercial, and corporate environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network-related problems and serve as escalation point.
• Provide third-level technical support to network teams and client institutions.
• Collaborate with project managers, security, and other teams for engineering requirements and oversight.
• Develop and maintain runbooks, network design docs, and processes for improvement.
• Assess and test evolving technologies for performance and cost benefits.
• Participate in change, incident, and problem management activities.
