We are seeking a Staff Network Engineer to design, implement, and support secure, scalable, and highly resilient enterprise and data center network infrastructure. This role will have a strong focus on network security technologies, including firewalls, VPN, network segmentation,
and secure connectivity, while driving and contributing to broader enterprise and data center network architecture and design initiatives.
You will be part of a hands‑on engineering team responsible for designing and operating critical network infrastructure across a large and complex environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong network architecture and design capabilities along with deep technical expertise across network security, routing and switching, DNS, load balancing, and enterprise networking.
This is a hands‑on technical role that combines architecture and design with implementation and operational support. You will collaborate with other senior engineers and cross‑functional teams to solve complex technical challenges, improve network reliability and security, and build scalable infrastructure to support continued business growth.
The salary range for this role is $149,700 - $187,100 for California based applicants and $123,400 - $154,200 for Illinois & Georgia based applicants. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs. We may also have the opportunity to participate in Rivian’s 401(k) Plan and Employee Stock Purchase Program if you meet certain eligibility requirements. Full‑time employee coverage is effective on their first day of employment. Part‑time employee coverage is effective the first of the month following 90 days of employment.
