Job summary

Datasite hires a Staff Infrastructure Architect to own multi-cloud infrastructure architecture, Kubernetes platform strategy, and high availability for a product-led engineering org of ~250 engineers. The role is a staff-level IC with broad influence and no direct reports, partnering with engineering leaders to plan for growth and ensure production readiness.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in infrastructure or platform engineering with architecture ownership
• Hands-on design/operation across two major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Strong Kubernetes platform experience (cluster topology, multi-cluster, multi-cloud)
• Experience designing highly available systems (multi-region, multi-AZ, DR)
• IaC experience with Terraform or similar tools
• Ability to anticipate infrastructure and capacity needs before blockers
• Experience influencing technical direction across teams without formal authority
• Direct experience with M&A technical due diligence and post-acquisition integration

Responsibilities

• Own multi-cloud architecture across AWS, GCP, and Azure, including workload placement and network topology
• Design connectivity patterns (VPC/VNet peering, transit, hybrid networking) and balance cost vs. portability
• Own Kubernetes architecture at scale, including clustering, scheduling, autoscaling, multi-tenancy
• Define platform primitives engineers build on and steward IaC foundations
• Design and validate DR, failover, and 99.95% uptime targets, modeling growth and failures
• Partner with engineering teams to translate roadmaps into infrastructure plans 2–3+ quarters ahead
• Support acquisition integration with due diligence, integration blueprints, and migration plans
• Mentor staff engineers on architecture and system design; evaluate AI tooling for infra automation
