Job summary

Tilt Finance is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer for the ML Platform to own the layer between data science and infrastructure. You will manage the feature store, enable end-to-end model training and deployment, and build self-service tooling so data scientists ship models without daily engineering involvement.

You’ll work on scalable training and deployment platforms, extend monitoring, and drive adoption across teams.

Qualifications

• Deep hands-on experience as a platform or software engineer working in ML, with production systems serving multiple models.
• Experience with feature stores and model deployment platforms (Databricks Feature Store, Feast, Tecton or equivalent).
• Strong CI/CD for ML (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure Pipelines or similar) and infrastructure as code.
• Cloud expertise in AWS or Azure for ML deployment, plus Kubernetes and batch/real-time serving.
• Ability to drive self-service tooling and work with backend engineers to deploy models smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Run our managed feature store and define patterns for backfilling and serving features.
• Make feature store the starting point for model training, not just deployment.
• Build and improve automated training and deployment platforms used by data scientists.
• Turn repetitive steps into self-service agents and skills used by data scientists.
• Standardize training/retraining with schedulable, reproducible pipelines backed by feature store data.
• Scale batch scoring and low-latency online inference with proper isolation and cost controls.
• Extend monitoring for data drift and serving health with dashboards accessible to data scientists.
