Datavant is seeking a Staff ML Platform Engineer to lead our ML Platform team and set direction for training, serving, and observability across cloud providers. You will own the paved-road framework and mentor senior engineers while delivering self-serve pipelines for Data Science teams.

The role requires deep AWS experience, Databricks expertise, and fluency with ML tooling like MLflow. You will work in a remote-fast environment focused on regulated health data.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering with 3+ years designing enterprise-scale ML platforms.
• Strong judgment, ability to set standards and raise the bar across teams.
• Hands-on with Databricks and SageMaker; PyTorch or TensorFlow experience.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction across ML training, serving, and observability.
• Own and evolve paved-road framework for config-to-production workflows.
• Lead architecture for LLM-endpoint serving across providers and self-hosted deployments.
• Own standards for MLflow, model registry, training image supply chain.
• Partner with Data & ML Platform teams to present a cohesive platform.
• Mentor engineers and contribute code and IaC alongside teammates.
