Job summary

Datavant is seeking a Staff ML Platform Engineer to join the Data & ML Platform organization. You will own the paved-road framework and drive architecture for LLM-endpoint serving across providers while mentoring senior engineers and contributing hands-on code and IaC.

You will shape the standards for MLflow, model registry, training image supply chain, and observability, enabling Data Science and App Dev teams to move models to production safely at Datavant.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with enterprise-scale ML platforms.
• Strong judgment under ambiguity and ability to set standards.
• Hands-on with Databricks and SageMaker and MLflow.
• Fluency in Java and Python; deep Spark experience.
• Terraform, Kubernetes, and GitHub CI/CD for ML workloads.
• Experience serving LLMs in production and cost management.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction across ML training, serving, and observability.
• Own and evolve our paved-road framework for production workflows.
• Lead architecture for LLM-endpoint serving across providers.
• Own standards for MLflow, model registry, and training image supply chain.
• Partner with Data & ML Platform teams to present a cohesive platform.
• Mentor engineers and contribute hands-on code and IaC.
