Job summary

General Motors is hiring a Staff ML Infra Engineer to accelerate autonomous driving ML development. You will design and deploy scalable training pipelines, support large datasets, and optimize performance across cloud environments.

You’ll own end-to-end projects, mentor teammates, and help recruit top talent while collaborating across GM teams globally. This remote or hybrid role offers exposure to cutting-edge ML foundations, multi-stage production models, and state-of-the-art training

Qualifications

• 5+ years building large-scale distributed systems or ML systems.
• Robust API design experience and durable interfaces.
• Hands-on ML algorithms with practical applications.
• Experience on cloud infrastructure with cost efficiency.
• End-to-end ML lifecycle including MLOps practices.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and coding skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and deployment of scalable ML training/evaluation platforms.
• Own complex projects end-to-end with architectural trade-offs.
• Align work across multiple teams and longer timelines.
• Drive technical prioritization with partner teams.
• Shape interviews and assist in recruiting.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns.
