Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Staff ML Engineer to lead the design and development of scalable ML training infrastructure, partnering with ML engineers, researchers, and platform teams to enable industrial-scale AI across GM vehicles.

You will own cross-functional initiatives, define roadmaps, optimize training performance, and raise observability and reliability, with travel to Sunnyvale, CA as needed.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 5+ years in AI/ML infrastructure or distributed training
• Strong Python and ML framework experience

Responsibilities

• Define architecture for scalable ML training platforms.
• Lead model training performance analysis and optimization across distributed workflows.
• Raise observability, debuggability, and reliability of the ML stack.
• Own cross-functional initiatives from strategy to execution.
