Job summary

ServiceNow is hiring a Staff Machine Learning Engineer - VoIP Infrastructure to design, develop and deploy VoIP infrastructure and AI-driven voice workloads. You will collaborate across engineering, product and infrastructure to ensure scalable, performant voice platforms and to integrate LLMs into production systems.

You will mentor peers, contribute to SRE improvements, and own code across telephony and LLM layers, with a focus on reliability and scalability in a distributed cloud-native

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building VoIP systems using SIP/RTP protocols.
• Experience with Kamailio, RTPEngine, FreeSWITCH, SBCs, and PSTN systems.
• Experience integrating applications on top of LLMs.
• Experience in prompt engineering and developing LLM-based features.
• 4+ years of development experience with Python, Go, Java, or similar languages.
• 4+ years operating highly available distributed workloads on Kubernetes with a DevOps approach.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design, development and implementation of VoIP infrastructure and observability features for AI-driven voice workloads.
• Collaborate with engineering, Product, and infrastructure teams to ensure voice/AI platforms perform efficiently and scale.
• Improve SRE by turning operational telephony and AI workloads into tooling requirements.
• Support deployment and operations for VoIP systems and AI/ML production environments.
• Build high-quality, scalable code with code reviews and unit testing.
• Work with product owners to understand requirements and own code from design to delivery across telephony and LLM integration layers.
• Experience integrating LLMs into voice platforms and real-time communications.
• Mentor colleagues and promote knowledge sharing across telecom and AI engineering.
