Job summary

Solstice, a company building AI software for life sciences, seeks a Member of Technical Staff in Machine Learning in New York City to improve models, representations, and data powering its AI agents for creating, refining, and reviewing pharmaceutical marketing content.

You will investigate failures, form hypotheses, implement changes, and evaluate impact on evidence grounding, tool use, and task success, collaborating with Applied AI and Fullstack AI engineers, and shipping production

Qualifications

• Strong ML fundamentals and hands‑on implementation skills.
• Strong Python and hands‑on experience building or improving LLM systems, retrieval systems, or agents.
• Evidence of taking a data or model improvement into production.
• Sound experimental judgment: explicit hypotheses, credible comparisons, meaningful baselines, and care with leakage.

Responsibilities

• Improve model behavior inside agents and diagnose failures.
• Make retrieval and grounding more accurate.
• Turn agent runs and reviewer feedback into useful data.
• Implement and test substantive improvements.
• Measure complete-task outcomes and latency/cost.
• Ship improvements with the product team and monitor production.
