Reddit is hiring a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to drive the next generation of Reddit’s ML ecosystem, spanning recommendations, search, messaging, and AI systems. You will lead cross-functional initiatives from ideation to production, shaping technical strategy and product direction across multiple ML domains.

You will mentor engineers, set technical vision, and collaborate with Product, Data Science, and Engineering teams to deliver measurable user and business impact.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of production ML experience.
• Expert in TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Hugging Face Transformers.
• Proficient Python and Golang; production-grade code with testing and monitoring.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience deploying large-scale ML systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end ML initiatives from ideation through production and iteration.
• Architect, build and deploy large-scale ML systems across recommendations, search, and content understanding.
• Drive measurable impact on user engagement, discovery, and value.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align product and technical roadmaps.
• Stay at the forefront of AI research and evaluate new paradigms for Reddit’s ML ecosystem.
• Mentor senior and mid-level ML engineers and contribute to best practices.
