General Motors seeks a high-performing Mechanical Design Engineer to lead in-house development of GM SDV electronics enclosures and mechanical interfaces. You will own design, development and review of electrical controllers for next‑gen SDV architecture, collaborating with electrical, PCBA and supplier teams.
The role emphasizes 3D CAD, FEA, tolerancing, DFx and cross-functional collaboration across GM and suppliers, with a focus on manufacturability and robustness.

Our CCH (Central Compute Hardware) Mechanical Design team is a dynamic, high-energy, and innovative group focused on developing enclosures for next generation ECUs (Electronic Control Units) commonly shared across both future ICE and EV vehicles manufactured by GM. The team is responsible for developing Mechanical, EMI and Thermal design of new compute related electronics, with math, CAD and analysis. The team also reviews and approves production design changes. We are seeking a high-performing Mechanical Design Engineer interested in leading the in-house development of GM SDV (Software Defined Vehicle) electronics design and engineering. You will be responsible for the mechanical design, development, and review of Electrical Controllers, for our next generation SDV architecture. You will be depended upon to build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and cross functional peers.
