Job summary

Trystar Inc. is seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design for power conversion solutions. The role requires onsite presence in Merrimack, NH or Waukesha, WI, with responsibility for large-scale designs and coordination across R&D and manufacturing teams.

You will drive design efforts, mentor engineers, and ensure on-time delivery while maintaining safety and quality standards. Experience with power electronics packaging and FEA/CFD is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• 7+ years as a mechanical design engineer, preferably in power electronics packaging.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or equivalent CAD and standard drafting practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete mechanical design including layout, modeling, drawings, and requirements definitions.
• Support thermal, FEA, and CFD analyses for system-level performance.
• Design and develop mechanical assemblies for racks, modular power devices, UPSs, rectifiers, and inverters.
• Lead mechanical design reviews and mentor other engineers and technicians.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers on PCB mounting, packaging, and harnessing.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models and drawings for complex enclosures and routed assemblies.
• Work with QA, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to improve designs and manufacturability.
• Develop fixtures and participate in prototypes, pilot builds, and production launches.
