Job summary

You will translate user needs into specifications, supervise prototyping and testing, ensure design control compliance, and collaborate across functions from concept to launch while mentoring others. You must reside within commuting distance and be on-site five days a week in Portage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Minimum four years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience designing mechanical or electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Proficiency in engineering drawing creation and GD&T principles.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and verify components and subsystems for medical devices with minimal supervision.
• Translate user needs into design specifications and deliver system-level solutions.
• Lead prototyping and testing efforts to validate design performance.
• Identify and resolve complex design issues using data-driven analysis to improve processes and outcomes.
• Apply clinical knowledge to author design inputs and support Voice of Customer sessions.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and mentor others in design control practices.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation, including Design History Files.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to drive projects from concept through launch.
