Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corp. seeks a Mechanical Engineer in Woodland Hills, CA to support inertial navigation systems for military platforms. This on-site role is an individual contributor with technical leadership and mentoring responsibilities.

Relocation assistance may be available. Travel up to 10% may be required. U.S. Secret Security clearance and citizenship are mandatory for this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 12+ years experience, or Master’s with 10+ years, or PhD with 8+ years.
• Expertise with Siemens NX CAD and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance and U.S. Citizenship required.
• Strong presentation and written communication; mentoring experience.

Responsibilities

• Support design and development for inertial navigation systems and existing product lines.
• Perform GD&T, drawing creation, tolerance analysis, and BOMs.
• Develop mechanical testing and qualification plans (vibration, thermal, shock).
• Collaborate with senior engineers to drive hardware design on tight schedules.
• Translate system requirements into mechanical designs and conduct root cause analysis.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in design reviews and best practices.
