Job summary

Mainspring Energy is seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineer to contribute to mechanical engineering projects for our Linear Generator platform. You will support mechanical design, CAD, drawings, analysis, testing, documentation, and release activities under guidance.

This role is ideal for an early-career engineer who is curious, detail-oriented, hands-on, eager to learn, and capable of executing well-defined tasks with mentorship.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Foundational understanding of mechanics, materials, design, and thermal/fluids subjects
• Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, including drawings and documentation
• Ability to execute well-defined engineering tasks, communicate progress, and incorporate feedback
• Interest in hands-on engineering, prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and data collection
• Clear communication and willingness to learn company processes

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical engineering projects by completing defined design, analysis, testing, documentation, and release tasks with guidance
• Create and update CAD models, assemblies, drawings, test fixtures, and engineering reports
• Assist with basic calculations, tolerance reviews, simulations, test setup, data review, and troubleshooting
• Learn design review, drawing release, validation, change control, and manufacturing support processes
• Communicate progress, blockers, and findings clearly and seek help when scope or priorities are unclear
• Build practical engineering judgment through repeated feedback and hands-on cycles
